A funny thing happened........

Well here I am again trying to think that possibly, just maybe I too can be a writer!
I have the most interesting customers come into this fine Cafe that the Lord has blessed us with.. Us being Mark, my husband, the behind the scenes guy, and Me...up front and center. We know that the Lord has blessed us with this place because it's still here!
Anyways, back to the cafe. Every day there are 3 ladies that come in.; not all at the same time but none the less they bless us every day, sometimes 3 and 4 times a day. These ladies just live around the corner and look to us as family. They come in for coffee, toast tea or just to show us what they have gotten as a gift. They tell us of their winnings at the casino, and their losses. All three of these ladies are on a disabillity pension. Two of the three run a tab with us, which are the only ones we allow, because of their limited income. It's ok, they will not break us. There are also times when they come in, we just don't mark down their purchases. They are very sweet ladies and Mark has given them all nicknames. One is Smokey as she always has a smoke in her mouth, her sidekick, the one that comes in with her often is the Bandit...no need to explain, if you know the movie(Smokey and the Bandit) and the other is Bob...her name is Barb.
To know Mark is to love him and if you become fortunate enough, he will also give you a nickname! I have one, have for years and if you listen close, you will hear him call me this at times in the kitchen! These three ladies that come in are in so often that even other regular customers are calling them by their nicknames because they hear Mark doing so. These ladies also know that this is only a term of endearment on Mark's part.
We also have a couple of daily bus drivers in, Big Al and Big Daddy! We have a Carrot Cake Barb, the peanut dudes, Bubba, Jr, Sr, ...the list goes on. So I dare you, come on in, come on, and see what your name becomes. Who knows, your new name could become a menu item... We have a Gord Omelette already, a Sparky Burger, Big Al's Special, and a Dan Burger.
We all have fun here and as I said before, we are one big happy family. You know how families are, very unique! and that we are down here at the Cafe.

A funny thing happened....

Well, I wasn't at the cafe this weekend because I was at a retreat. ... but...
if you need a faith lift, keep reading.
Friday night after the sessions ended, I was back at the villa where I was staying and ran into a friend, Shorty. I joined her in the lounge and it wasn't long until two other ladies joined us. As we chatted, we discussed life issues, the retreat, and us personally. As the night drew into the wee hours of the morning, one of the ladies gave me a nickle. I took that nickle and raised my hand to the heavens praising God and praying in expectation for multiplication. That was about 1:15 a.m.... I took that nickle and at about 7:30 Saturday night I put it in the offering bucket believing for multiplication... well... Sunday evening at around 7:30 it had been multiplied 100 fold! But that's not all! By 7:30 Monday morning, that $5.00 had been multiplied 100 fold!!! It's happening! It's happening!! It's happening!!! I can't wait til 7:30 for the next multiplication!~ .... keep reading and I'll keep posting!

A funny thing happened........

Isn't it fun following Christ???? He makes you do the strangest things.......like....... running in local politics even when you don't know a whole lot about them......Well, I am following a prompting from the Holy Spirit and thru my hat into Ward 1, Brantford and guess what..... You will never guess...... IT'S THE LARGEST WARD AND HAS THE MOST CANDIDATES RUNNING! !!!!!!!!Of course, He can't give me something simple to do...... like rest or something like that ..... but He has other plans and if I'm not on board, I'll miss whatever it is He has for me.....
We had the ward debate the other night and surprisingly, I opened my mouth and.............I amazed myself with the answers I gave!!!! God is so good and He makes us look good, and makes us better when we follow Him!!!!

A funny thing happened at the cafe today........man oh man is God ever stretching my faith.... I have always be one to have a backup plan, even when I think that there is really no backup plan......there always is. Well guess what.... I have NO BACK UP PLAN LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh no... what to do.....Trust God? Oh my....can I really trust Him? Will He really come thru?????? Will HE?????    Well we will see..I keep sensing that He is the God of the 11th hour... I know that but..... I seem to always have to wait.... 11:58, 11:59, 12:00.... 12:01..... Oh my....the time has past and no answer.... What will I do... the walls are caving in... my heart is pounding... blood pressure rising...God YouLeft me...You said You would never leave me or forsake me....what happen?  :o(.....
Where did You go? Oh wait.... you don't do time... I forgot..... sooooooooooo  wait I will .... why...because I trust you...Your word is true... You dont lie.... and I love you. and you love me... so wait I will!!!!What a faith lesson!!! Thanks God for the reminder to trust You and have faith in You.... only You!!!  :o)!!!!
